Maybe I can crowd-source this here. I solicited flower suggestions a while ago, specifically excluding roses. I usually think roses as gifts are a little too loaded with significance, and maybe a little cliched as well. That being said, I have a couple bushes in the back yard that are in full bloom.

I'm thinking of cutting a single one to give to someone who's more of a colleague than a co-worker. Does this strike anyone as inappropriate? It's not being given as an overtly romantic gesture, and I don't think it'll be received as one, but it ain't 100% innocent either if that makes any sense. Assuming it's kosher, should I go for the Persian yellow, or Persian pink?
