If you can; shovel often to keep on top of it. Get out every hour or so, otherwise you’ll have several feet to get through at one go. Do this, and your sidewalk will be pretty clear by the end of the storm.
Take it slow, especially if it’s heavy snow. Rest often. It’s not a race.
After shoveling, if you don’t have sidewalk salt, you can use non-clumping kitty litter to add grit and prevent slipping.
