Shelterbox is a subset of the Rotary Club. A shelterbox includes a tent, a collapsible stove (which will burn pretty much anything as fuel), cooking utensils, emergency blankets and ground sheets, water purification kits, basic tools for rebuilding and other gear necessary for survival after a disaster. Includes a play kit for kids. A small donation helps stock an individual box, and you will be given a tracking number, so you know where “your” box has been sent.

ETA; apparently the parent organization link is only for the UK, and doesn’t give links for other countries, so for those outside the UK, try the US site; it will give you the option to click on sites in other countries. I can be an issue with say, pounds vs dollars.

ETA; Charity Navigator, which investigates how legit a charity is, gives Shelterbox a very high rating with regard to how much of your donation goes to the actual product/service as opposed to administrative costs. Link here;
