It has been some crazy weather out there! Tornado warnings most of the morning, touchdowns at Baton Rouge and outside of New Orleans - are yall safe and sound? Are all your cars safely on neutral ground!?
I am at work and it looks like the worst has passed, although we’ve still got 40-50 mph winds predicted til around 2ish. I work on the 28th floor and only ONE of my coworkers went downstairs with me when the warning came on. Basically what I have learned is that people are morons and that the line was firmly drawn between people who had been in a bad tornado before and people who had not and laughed at us.
Meanwhile, they’re recording winds of up to 111mph; our causeway, bridge, and freeway are all shut down; most traffic lights are out and the roads are flooded, 25K people out of power in the metro area, all schools on lockdown, Tulane sheltering in place, University of New Orleans cancelled and exams for the day cancelled, and there were literally railway cars being blown off of the tracks:
BUT NO COWORKERS, LAUGH AT US AS WE GO DOWNSTAIRS. You guys are really smart.
Please chime in LA Jezzies and make sure you’re safe!
