"I'm Ike Turner, turn up, baby, no I don't play / now bleep bleep bleep Anna Mae!"
I just noticed tonight that my local top 40s Clear Channel radio station bleeps out the controversial lyrics referencing domestic violence in Beyonce's ode to surfborts, Drunk in Love.
Anyone else get that on their local radio edits?
I'm super surprised to hear it, since the offensiveness seems to be more nuanced than your usual bleep-worthy words on mainstream radio. Do you think it's bleeped for the domestic violence reference, or is there some hip young slang that I'm not aware of?
