There were some posts earlier about the mall shooting in Columbia, MD but I wanted to post some updates now that the mall has been cleared and there is some more information available.

As far as I know most GTers with family in the area (and there seem to be a lot of us) have been able to make contact with their loved ones.

The Howard County Police department has announced that the mall has been completely cleared. People had been sheltering in place for hours. They have also confirmed that two of the victims were mall employees. They did not specify if the employees worked the Zumiez where the shooting took place. There is a third victim who appears to be the shooter. At this time there is not known motive.

The Columbia Mall is a big regional mall in suburban Maryland. Columbia is about 25 miles north of Washington DC and twenty miles southwest of Baltimore.
