Mr. Waffle and I have a 2012 Chevy Sonic Turbo. It's been a great car, up until recently. Over the summer a hose burst, so we had that replaced. Now there's a coolant leak, which seems to be a common problem with Sonics and Cruzes, and nobody knows how to fix it. It makes the car vibrate, which it wasn't doing until a couple weekends ago, conveniently after we tried to trade it in for something else.

We're underwater on the loan by about $4500. We don't have that much in cash, so whatever we trade it in for that much more will be tacked on top.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a small SUV or crossover that would be good in snow and isn't terribly spendy? We were looking at the Mitsubishi Outlander, but it's gotten very mixed reviews, anywhere from four stars to two. Anybody have an Outlander or Mitsu that they like? We're also looking at the Kia Sportage. It's gotten pretty good reviews, and Kia and Hyundai are now working together, so Kia's are getting better.

Thanks, hivemind!
