So I just finished the first installment of Mallory Ortberg’s reign as Slate’s advice columnist. I know GT is full of Emily Yoffe haters, but I was not one of them. So I was sad to see her go, and decided to reserve judgement until the new Prudence got a column or two under her belt. And, as with most people stepping in to a new role, I considered that it might take a while for her to come in to her own. But I have to say that I’m impressed. She’s quick-witted yet kind, with a snappy voice that is all her own. I like that she gave some personal information as well, recognizing that for millions of readers this is more than just an advice column, this is a relationship. I look forward to more from her.
