Just got into an accident. Stupid snow. It was only a dusting, but the roads were pretty slick and icy. Coming up to a red light, I was going slowly and carefully and started braking well before the intersection, but nope. My car had other ideas. Pumped the brakes, nothing. UGH.

No one was hurt, so obviously that's the important part. I mean, it was a collision of one car at like 5-10 mph into a stopped car. No real damage to my car (some scratches to the paint maybe, but it's hard to say what was already there versus new), but the other guy's car got a small crack in the bumper. Stupid everything.

Fuck this day. And now I'm at work and can't focus. I hate everything. I filed a stupid claim with my stupid insurance because I know the stupid guy is going to file a stupid claim anyway, so I figured I might as well notify them that it's coming. This is the first time I've been in an accident with damage, so I don't really know what to expect.

Update: The insurance company called me to confirm the details of the claim I submitted online. The guy seemed pleasant enough, and said everything would be covered under my policy. I tried asking about my rates, but he said he wouldn't know and that would be a different department.
