I hate that I use Comcast. I have never had anything but trouble and polite-but-useless customer service from them.

First was the MONTHS-LONG SAGA of actually getting my damn cable set up (which required several trips to the middle of nowhere to get to their stupid home office). Throughout this entire time, I was getting different and conflicting "help" from customer representatives.

Then they started charging me for services I never asked for. I called to complain because, wth, I never had access to Showtime before and suddenly they were charging me for it? They said it was bundled into my package - one of those hidden "six months free" deals. Only, during those six months, whenever I tried to click on one of those channels (you know how sometimes you see a show or movie you'd like to watch without looking at the channel first?), I'd get a "subscription needed" message. I was stern but polite, and the lady prorated the extra charge for me because hell no I wasn't paying for something I didn't even know I had.

Over the holidays, it was one thing after another with service disruptions (not related to the weather, mind). Whatever.

NOW THEY HAVE TAKEN BBC AMERICA AND ABC FAMILY AWAY FROM ME. ON THE EVE OF THE ORPHAN BLACK PREMIERE. When I called to complain, the rep said "it's not on your lineup" and that was all the information he could give me because he didn't have any other answers. Then I found a letter from them (which my roommate said arrived this week) saying that there had been an error in my service and I was receiving additional channels that I shouldn't have been (what???) and they have now corrected that error. Now. I'm pretty sure I signed up for this package because it allowed me to get BBCA (Doctor Who and Graham Norton and Orphan Black, etc), but my bill does say "Digital Economy" so maybe I was mistaken. Fine. Whatever. STILL. The customer representative should have been able to answer this question when I asked, right?

So Comcast has finally taxed my patience one too many times. I'm ready to cancel my cable subscription and just have internet. I think I'll just get Amazon Prime and Hulu, in addition to Netflix then. (But getting just internet is almost as expensive as having internet AND cable and just...AAAARRRRGGGHHHH)

I'm so annoyed. I pay a fair chunk of change (for my budget, anyway) for a service that has given me nothing but trouble since the moment I signed up for it. And I know that I'm privileged to even have cable, but this isn't money I spend lightly and to spend it for something that has been such a headache feels like a punch in the face.

But I have already called Comcast TWICE today. And I'm so frustrated with it all, I'm worried that I'll just be needlessly bitchy to the representative on the line with me.

WHATEVER. FORGET IT. I'M GOING TO SHOWER, THEN PREPARE YEAST ROLLS FOR DINNER TOMORROW AND GET DRINKS AT A COOL NEW BAR THAT OPENED UP THIS WEEK THEN...

Bitter? Who, me?
