Hey guys! I first owe everyone on GT an apology - I started a new job a few weeks ago, and between that and the wedding and the honeymoon, this has just been a crazy few months for me and I haven’t been on here very much at all. However, I haven’t forgotten about you or the fund and I hope to have some time to catch up with you all soon!
So, on to the reason for this post. We have a request from StrangerBird, and I really want to help her out, but right now we have $17 in our PayPal account and just over $240 in our bank account. So if we give her everything we’ve got, we are completely wiped out. If any of you can spare anything right now, we’d love you forever! (Well, we already do anyway!) The easiest way to donate is through PayPal, firstname.lastname@example.org, but you can also donate through GoFundMe here.
Love you guys and miss you very much. Please comment on this post with what you’ve been up to lately - I’d love to hear about your lives!
The GroupThink Emergency Fund was created in October 2013. It was first inspired when longtime member KillerMartinis made an offhanded comment about her electricity being turned off. I (greenheart) started a call for GT members to donate $5 a person to help out, and within 3 hours we’d collected 6 times the amount of the power bill. With the remainder, GT opted to create an emergency fund to help out its members in times of need.
To contribute to the fund, visit our GoFundMe page or send any donation amount through PayPal to email@example.com. To view the guidelines for requesting and receiving aid, see the original posthere. To request assistance, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
