GorgeousThangs, I need your wise, sexy selves to help me get an out-of-state job.

I'm looking for entry-level work (eg research assistant, supportive) in NYC and DC. But I'm worried that my resume/cover letter will not be taken seriously because I live in a podunk shit town far, far, far from either of those cities.

Here are the deets: I'm graduating at the end of the month. I'm applying to jobs right now, trying to get things lined up all perfect. I'd like to start working ASAP, obviously. But if that doesn't work out, I'll have a place to stay in shitsville til the end of July.

Do employers look at out-of-state resumes/cover letters like mine? Or do they toss them aside in a very dramatic fashion? My hunch is they'd go for a local over an out-of-stater. Goddamn it.
