In a beautiful moment of symbiosis, GT elected a theme for our very own March Madness. So I created a bracket because Sorcia asked me nicely!

This is my first foray into bracket making, so please be kind about any possible errors or favorites that didn’t make the cut. I tried to compile a selection of diverse, widely recognizable icons from television, film, adult literature, children’s books and comics.

In nearly all cases, we tried to go with the original medium, no matter how iconic later adaptations may have been. Dorothy Gale, for example, is among the book group. One noteworthy exception is Carrie Bradshaw, in the TV group, because despite being a fan, I’ve never in my life heard or read anyone discuss Bushnell’s book as source material. Still, it’s totally fair to take all depictions of a character into account when voting. Of course your view of Emma Watson is going to color your view of Hermione Granger.

Feel free to cross post!

Let’s begin with some strong contenders in the TV category.
