my cousin’s wife (who for brevity’s sake I will just call my sister-in-law) and I have decided to have some family fun for solstice on the 17th. More of an atheist/sciencey/secular one than a pagan/religious one, though I understand that celebrating solstice is a pagan thing and there are some cool practices with that.

we’re talking about taking the various kids to a nature center or something like that, but it will probably be cold or cold ish. I’ve thought about making sunburst shaped sugar cookies (and maybe salt dough ornaments?) and that’s about all I’ve got. Ideas, anyone? Kids ranging from age one to age eight or so, plus various adults.
