(Updated with suggested edits so far ) so we have decided to settle in Washington (also, we really can't go any further and we have a week left at where we are) Here is my sorry excuse of a cover letter. How can I make it sound better and less ... Unprofessional? I really can write, just not about myself.

Newest version:

Hello!

I am an artist and illustrator. I have recently relocated to Seattle, and this letter is my formal submission for the position of (insert here).

A selection of my relevant work experience includes Montessori curriculum illustration for Diamond Montessori, and cover illustration for speaker Veronica Buna's book Sex, How did you learn to spell it? I also worked as a flatter in the freelance comic book industry, mural work in Okanagan Wine country for Cana Vines and Top Shelf wineries. I currently have an exhibition of paintings at Serenity Day Spa and Salon in Grover Beach, California. I have designed email newsletter campaigns for the Vancouver Bhranga Society and SwitchedOnHealth.com. I have taken three years of General Fine Arts at Emily Carr University where I worked in the Adobe suite, graphic design, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, marketing, and art history. I have creativity and enthusiasm, and am very computer literate; I am easily able to pick up new skills. I currently am learning coding at Code Academy and am improving my math skills at Khan Academy.

I have my own self hosted blog at www.ArtloveLight.com and it receives about 300 views per day. A video I animated appeared on boingboing.net and received over ten thousand views. Get to know me at http://artlovelight.com/artistkatana/ the bio section of my website.

I am well suited to this job because I create unique and interesting content, am very creative even within brand guidelines. I understand how creative content drives analytics and creates solid results in sales and traffic for clients. I am a friendly and diplomatic self starter, with an honest work ethic and an ability to work in a team or independently, which I believe makes me a perfect opportunity for this position.

I would love to meet and discuss this opportunity.

Thank you.

I have taken three years of General Fine Arts at Emily Carr University (I took a gap year and ended up living in California for two years with my now husband, life is fun!) where I did work in Flash for assignments.

I worked briefly in the comic book industry as a flatter (not a colorist, but as the person prepping the line art for the colors).

I have the creativity and enthusiasm, and am very computer literate- any skills I lack I am easily able to pick up. I currently am learning coding at CodeAcademy.com and am improving my math skills at khanacademy.com just for fun.

If you would like to meet me, I have just moved to Seattle from California and am available with 24 hr notice.
