Christmas “vacation” is here! I put it in quotes because I’ll be at my in-laws for almost two weeks so it’s not like, an especially relaxed environment for me. And, 20 hour car trip there with two dogs and a five year old. Then the same for the return trip.
We’re all good road-trippers, blessedly. But my one MEGA-complaint is that last year, out of nowhere, I started getting really car sick when I read in the car. This is a huge bummer. I’m thinking of doing the 30 day free trial to Audible so I can download two audiobooks. And I have a ton of podcasts I listen to. It’s not the best though, because it’s hard to pay attention to a kid with headphones on and audiobooks/podcasts make me fall asleep. But anyway. I guess I’m looking for good audiobook recs! I’m thinking had about Talking as Fast as I can by Lauren Graham. She narrates herself and it has good reviews.
I also wonder if reading on a tablet as opposed to a real book would make a difference on the car sickness. I don’t know if I want to experiment. I threw up so much last year, hah. I wound up taking Dramamine and sleeping through a lot of the drive.
Holiday travel open thread is a-go.
