The BBC has an in-depth look at the case of Robert Jones, a (black) man who was pressured into agreeing to plead guilty to the murder of a British tourist- even though someone else had already been convicted of the crime.

There was no evidence whatsoever tying him to the crime. He had no criminal record. Even now, with multiple courts acknowledging that his trial and conviction was a farce, the DA has tried to get his family to pay over 2 million dollars to secure his release, to get Jones to admit to some of the charges in order to have the others dropped, and is insisting that he go through an official re-trial in order to fully clear his name.
