I have trouble packing light for any extended trip. For one thing, I put together a million different scenarios in my head where I'll need clothing. For another thing, my style can go from 50's housewife to Handsome Punk Rocker depending on my mood, and ne'er the two shall meet. The final problem I have, which I have just learned from this trip to Senegal, is that I get bored with my clothes after a certain time.

I mean , seriously, UGH! If I have to wear that same dress or those same jeans with that same top one more time, I am going to just go outside naked.

I really hope I get over it, because this is seriously giving me mixed feelings. I feel like I'm being childish, but this frustration is very very real, but I literally have a suitcase exploding with mostly high-quality clothing and I'm getting bored!?but I want new clothes nooooooow or at least new shoes because my shoes have gone to hell and back. This is a huge tornado of guilt mixed with teenage-like ennui and sartorial frustration. No sir, I don't like it!

I'm thinking of checking out the besquillion tailors available to have something new made, but I can think of a hundred things I can do with that money, the first being to save it since I need to find a job ASAP when I'm back in the US(getting into job interview form isn't cheap!). I figure that, if this feeling continues, I might try and get something made around the time I leave as a sort of "souvenir".

Are any others on extended stays going through this? Let's share strategies to look at our clothing and not say "ugh".

PS: I totally want to wear everything Veruca Salt is wearing, minus horrifying candy factory trip.
