On my way to work this morning I stopped at starbucks and got four coffees in a tray. I gave one to the main office secretary at the school, to thank her for being super helpful yesterday (she is insanely rude to everyone at the school usually but she really helped us out this week), one to the librarian, one to my coworker, and kept one for me.

In a strange turn of events, the librarian told us on Monday that we do great work in our program and she thinks it’s great that we are there. So...? I don’t fully get her, because I think she does and says contradictory things. But I am going to double my efforts to get along with her and try super hard to always be respectful of her space and not assume bad intentions on her part when she does something that bugs me. Anyway she was out sick yestersay so I thought it would be especially nice to bring her a coffee today since being sick is the worst.

I know I vented a lot about her on here last time but I am going to try to be more positive going forward. I still don’t really understand how to work with people who are indirect communicators, because I find indirect communication confusing and frustrating. I don’t really know how to handle people who behave passive aggressively instead of talking to me about the problem. I find it hard to tell if she is upset or not, and if the cause of her annoyance is us or if she is just annoyed by her students acting up or whatever. All I really want in life is for people to tell me when I have upset them.
