I'm getting ready to start selling at the local farmers market, and market rules say that every vendor must have some sort of structure like an umbrella or canopy over their table. I've been comparison shopping, and everything in the stores around here starts at like $50 - 60, which is a lot for me to spend on one item. Well, today I was driving around and I noticed that someone down the street put a patio umbrella out on the curb. I totally took that thing. I brought it home and looked it over and it just looks like a few pieces of the frame, which is wooden, need to be replaced. I think the cost of some decent hobby wood slats and an umbrella base should be less than $20. Total thrift success!
