I went to the ER yesterday for excruciating abdominal pain and after 6 hours of testing (well,
more like 1 hour of testing altogether and 5 hours of reading my book) I found out that I have a "nice pocket of gallstones." Apparently I have a lot of them (he also described them as "a bag of pearls" which is great if you're Audrey Hepburn), and the doctor thinks my gallbladder will rupture in the near future and I'll have to have it removed. Great! Have any of you had experience with this kind of thing? Can you approximate how many weeks I have to live? Thanks.
