Provided the nuclear apocalypse doesn’t happen by then, my kiddo and I are going to meet my husband in DC in May for a little mini vaycay. He has a professional conference thing he’s going to right before his birthday. So we’re going to fly out the last day of the conference and spend a few days in our nation’s capital. Lil’ Demic has never flown, so she is so excited for a real aeroplane flight. I think we are good with touristy things - it will be difficult to just narrow it down to 2-3 days worth, but we’ll make it work. So is it reasonable to do monuments on one day and maybe two Smithsonian museums on day two? The first and only time I went to D.C. It was an 8th grade week long bus trip. So I’m a little fuzzy on the logistics, frankly.

Any suggestions on must sees for a 9 year old? I’m thinking the American History Museum, the Air and Space Museum, or the Natural History Museum. I am having real trouble picking just two. For monuments, I think the big guns of all the ones around the National Mall.

I am so bad at planning travel. Halp!
