Despite having lived in the US for 25 years, I hadn't ever gotten my citizenship. I'm a Canadian, and always wanted to keep that option in case I ever needed to "go home". But I need to do some traveling to Canada, and can't get a Canadian passport, so I decided to pull the trigger on getting my American citizenship finally. Plus, this way I get to update my name at work. (Stupid E-Verify.)

It took a little extra work to get it finalized, but I checked my case status online today, and it's at "Oath Ceremony"! I'll be getting a letter with the date.
