In light of the incredible Malala Yousafzai interview, which has been going around Facebook, I also just came across this article on Huffington Post about how Malala's story is, on a deeper level, part of the Western White Saviour complex, and how she's being used as a tool for the West. I honestly don't know what I think.

On the one hand, I can see his points absolutely. On the other hand, I don't like his dismissal of her agency. And while I agree that Western imperialism is wrong, I also think that the Taliban is wrong. I just don't think they're representative of all of the Middle East.
