The mention of Looney Tunes sale over on io9 reminded me of a post I've been meaning to make. Where do you draw the line for what your kids watch?

My sons are almost 4 and 2. A while back I acquired a huge collection of old Looney Tunes cartoons. These are almost all unedited, and while none of them are the crazy "banned" cartoons, there was some pretty crazy inappropriate stuff in there.

Was it like that when I was a kid in the 80's? I don't think so, I think by then they had edited at least some of them, and now they are nice and sanitized. I had to decide what stays and what goes.

I used this site to find which old cartoons are edited for TV and which parts have been cut. I edited some of the cartoons with Windows Movie Maker (a couple were unsalvageable). I only cut racist stuff and suicide, I'm OK with crazy cartoon violence against others.

If you had to make the call, what kind of stuff would you let your kids watch? Are there shows you remember enjoying from your own childhood that would be out of the question these days?
