Has anyone else seen this trend on their Facebook? Several of my friends are posting “to break up the saturation of negative images and videos.” One of them will post an animal picture for everyone who replies. Another will post comic book characters, another is doing sunsets, all of the themes very much what you’d expect from that person.
Why do we need to break up the negative imagery? Isn’t the usual complaint that everyone is too perfect on Facebook? Or are they just trying to drown out the problems in society and discussions about them with cat photos? That’s my gut instinct, and it rubs me the wrong way. Thoughts?
Whoever posts about how happy they are without Facebook will be dismissed. You are the equivalent to “I don’t even have a TV” in discussions of media and it adds nothing to the conversation.
