While I was browsing online job boards today I saw a Craigslist ad for a photography studio in need of a part-time photographer's assistant to help at weddings and stuff. The ad was well-written and detailed (which is unusual for a CL job ad, let's be honest here). However, it didn't mention resumes or anything, so I sent the poster a quick email asking about what they wanted as far as that is concerned. They got back to me quickly and said they don't want a resume or application because they would prefer to interview someone in person to get a feel for their personality and to call them to set up a time this weekend. Is that normal? I checked out their website + Yelp entry and this is a legit studio. An interview before anything else just seems kind of weird to me, though. Am I overreacting? C'est possible.
