YOU GUYS. I know I’m a bit of a one-note nancy when it comes to themes. I love the media in totality; it’s content and style-both past and current-and the meta stuff like how it’s evolved with technology, the politics and social movements behind those evolutions, etc. I’m sure everyone on GT agrees/ shares the sentiment. So I am fucking THRILLED with this show from Amazon, Good Girls Revolt based on the Lynn Povich novel, The Good Girls Revolt, based on a group of female researchers who worked for Newsweek in the 1960’s and revolted over the fact that their work was being credited to men in the office who basically just signed off on their sources and maaaaybe edited a final product. It’s a great book if you haven’t read it; it’s like #FEMINISM#NEWSMEDIA#SOCIALMOVEMENTS. Plus NORA FREAKIN EPHRON is a main character! So it’s a fast-paced, Sorkin-like workplace dramedy about feminist politics during the 1960’s with epic biopic appearances. This show is GREAT. (Sorry if I am too excited about this show).
