As you refill your prescriptions for the first time in 2017, make sure you pay attention to what you’re being charged or contact your insurance to make sure they are still covered.

I take a generic birth control pill and when my husband picked up my refill the other day they charged him $38 for it when it should be copay free. He didn’t know any better so he paid (d’oh!). I called my insurance today and found out this particular brand of generic is no longer covered for some reason. She gave me a couple alternatives that I am asking my doctor about, but I may be out that money for now. (I have no idea if a pharmacy will take back/refund an unopened/unused prescription? I will try though). Just thankful it wasn’t more but for some of you on more expensive things, you may want to check before you refill.
