Considering all the panic and griping before and after the storm here in NY.

In Maine, Portland had a record snowfall for the date, with 21.6 inches, far surpassing the 8.3 inches in 1963. Through it all, the flagship L.L. Bean store in Freeport stayed open, as it does 365 days a year. But customers were few. One couple from Portland who shopped there on Tuesday seemed oblivious to the warnings about travel.

"Were we supposed to stay off the road?" Karl Ramsdell asked a reporter for The Portland Press Herald. "I thought that was just for people in Connecticut."
