I hope it’s okay I post this one.
It’s been forever since I had that kind of “book after book” thing, it was way easier to just settle into binging some TV shows, but I’m slowly starting to get back that cozy “evening with a book” feeling.
Today I cracked open “Hidden Figures” by Margot Lee Shetterly and am blown away. The topic aka “The untold story of African American women who helped win the space race” is already fascinating, but girl does she tells it in a beautiful and engaging way. It shows that she experienced parts of it herself, but this book so far is full to the brim with deep knowledge and you practically smell the past. The story picks up momentum and speed sooo fast and then it keeps on coming.
Makes me hate the fact even more that school history is so damn white and that it took me so long to even realize it.
Still also reading “The Fifth Season” and I hate that it sounds like this book isn’t great since it has been a current read for weeks, but I LOVE it.
And as usual:
1. What book did you most recently finish?
2. What are you reading now?
3. What’s next on your “to read” list?
4. Do you have/need any book recs?
