I hate it when people in my field are younger and more successful than me. I loathe wunderkinds, I truly feel that for every ounce of hard work they've put in — many ounces, usually — there are equal ounces of luck... or maybe fate... and I am seethingly jealous of them.

Yes, it's a great motivator. I am motivated by a burning desire to be more famous than them, to make more money than them. And I know, deep inside, that I will always be envious of someone, because I always have been.
