Look, I'm not going to make a rule about this. You guys are free to reveal identifying information about yourselves as you see fit, including real names and faces. My job is to make sure that those of you who do not want to do this are not forcibly outed by other people.
But I can not emphasize enough that this is an open community. You do not know who is reading these forums.
I'm an internet old. I've been around a long time and I've changed my online identity on more than a few occasions. There's nothing here that I'm not proud of, and there's nothing in my comment history that would cause any issues for me. However, I've been stalked, harassed, and tracked by a number of people from my interactions on Jezebel, most notably after I became a mod on the main site, and most viciously after I became headmod. It is not something I would wish on anyone. It's not likely that you (general you) would have this happen to you, but I caution everyone to consider this before revealing their real name, either in solidarity with KM, or for any other reasons.
As always, if you don't wish to comment on this on the page, you may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Edit: I meant to include a hat tip to Scarlet who brought this matter up: http://groupthink.jezebel.com/hey-hey-hey-st…
