Yesterday at a hearing, Rep. Joe Kennedy III spoke out in opposition to Paul Ryan’s Obamacare replacement bill. Noting that Ryan had called his own bill “an act of mercy”, Kennedy questioned how a bill that strips people of their healthcare could be considered merciful.

Later in the same hearing, he got a Government lawyer to admit that bill will strip many Americans of mental health coverage, as it will no longer be a mandatory part of insurance policies.

The Daily Kos has a video clip of Kennedy calling out Ryan on his “act of mercy” comment and a transcript of his exchange with the lawyer.
