Say what? This sounds counerintuitive on some level yet maybe right. You would think the more you comment the better a commenter you would be. But nope reverse.

I think the article has it in reverse. The article assumes writing formally is the same as commenting. Its not. Commenting is closer to stream of consciouness then formal writing. Its a form where as you think you write. A person tends not to think in structured sentences but short ones.

Also the more one comments they adjust their writing style to the environment. For example at work one writes memos similar to style of everyone else. Same with commenting.
