I just got the most absurd scam call ever. It was some automated call about lowering interest rates on my credit card accounts. Obviously I was pretty skeptical, but I wanted to find out more just in case.

The representative picks up the phone, and the conversation goes as follows:

"Hello, this is Sam. You are interested in lowering your interest rates for your credit card accounts?"

"Actually, I just wanted more information about what this was."

"How old are you, ma'am?"

"Um... I'm 25. I just wanted to know what this was about."

"Oh, 35? You sound very young. This is about a new government program that qualifies you for lower interest rates on all Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express cards if you make on-time payments. You carry a balance of at least $4,000 right?"

"...No."

"Okay, you're 35. Does your husband carry a balance? Do you have a husband?"

"...No."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"...?"

"You must be fat. You are fat, right? Chubby?"

".... I'm going to hang up now..."

LOL. I hope they realize that no one's going to fall for their scam if they dig into people's personal lives and attempt to insult them first. Has anyone else gotten crazy scam calls, or do I just make good troll bait?
