- said in a chipper voice, directed at an aspiring professional woman of a certain age. No previous discussion of whether this was the desired outcome of an earned PhD.
I live in the boonies and was speaking to someone for whom this is completely acceptable thought process. I know not to take it personally, and that it would be unwise to voice my frustration with this entire line of thought right now (because it only makes me the jerk, and hurts me in the end) but I need outrage on my behalf.
And then I need a hug.
