So, I won't lie...the Bob's Burgers post by NYCyclist inspired this post, because unfortunately I really hate Bob's Burgers, and it makes me feel bad because Groupthink seems to really love it, and you guys only love good things.
But in spite of the fact that I am really, really not a trendy person, or a person who hates popular things by any stretch of the imagination, I find that there are several things that most people think I should like orfind funny (as in, people with a similar sense of humor to me find it hilarious and assume I do too), and I really don't like them at all. A few of them are as follows:
1) Stand up comedy (yes, all of it)
2) Those bad lip-reading videos
3) Between Two Ferns
4) Sushi (nothing makes you feel like a terrible New Yorker more than hating sushi)
These are all things I have tried to like. Repeatedly. Things I feel like I should like! Things people are constantly sending me videos of/asking me to eat. Since people know I studied in France, they're always like "We got you some brie!", and I'm like "Oh, thanks!" and then I try and choke down as much as possible so as not to throw their kind gesture in their face. Connected, I know it's totally a rube move to take the rind off of many semi-firm and soft cheeses, but it's just so gross.
So tell me, my lovelies, what is it that YOU hate that everyone else thinks you should like?
