So I saw my favorite NP at my primary care yesterday AM. She thinks it’s either a Vitamin D deficiency (less likely since I take supplements), hypothyroid (more likely), or if not physical, that my meds have crapped out and I’m starting to get depressed and need to move up my psychiatrist appointment. She said it potentially could be chronic fatigue syndrome, but that she thinks it’s probably one of the other options.

I looked up the hypothyroid symptoms/risk factors and I have a LOT of them, including:

  • enlarged thyroid, which we discovered yesterday. It’s super painful to the touch!
  • it runs in my family
  • super fatigue
  • weight gain
  • depression
  • brittle nails and dry hair
  • digestive issues
  • I’m generally cold

So, I had blood work done yesterday morning after the appointment (my primary care has a phlebotomist!) and should likely find out by Thursday at latest. She said she was checking my hormone and antibody levels, just to be certain, which from my after-research sounds like she’s being very thorough. Which I appreciate.

As weird as this sounds, I almost hope this is what it is. I really don’t want to keep fucking with my brain meds or have to go on a medical mystery tour.
