So I was at my parent's house, but they had gone out for a meal together. This meant that I had to answer the phone. After a couple of phone calls about my foster brothers which I took messages for, the phone rang again. It was a family friend who I knew from when I was little who deals in gossip within the middle class Christian circuits. After asking about my parents, he asked me what I was up to. I told him I was second year Theology student, to which he replied:
"Going to marry a pastor are you?"
Excuse me?! What the actual hell? This is the equivalent of asking a law student whether she had just gone to marry a lawyer. The two reasons which you would assume a man would study theology are a) To become a minister/pastor/pope. b) To ACTUALLY STUDY THE SUBJECT.
But no. The main reason why a woman would go is obviously to find a man with a career.
