I thought that we were really getting to the point, culturally, were we were acknowledging that unwanted touching, groping, and kissing were indeed recognized as sexual assault, and as WRONG, and not just silly little cutesy mistakes that should be written off.

But between reading a whole of bunch of women arguing (in the name of “critical intersectional feminism”) that Taylor Swift didn’t deserve to be on the cover/featured in Time’s article because her assault was severe enough/she didn’t speak out early enough/she didn’t speak out loudly enough/she’s selfishly exploiting being assaulted to sell albums...

and then reading all of people rationalize how unfair it is the poor Al Franken is being pressed to resign because it was less severe than what the Cheeto Hitler did/because as long as Cheeto Hitler and Roy Moore are around we should keep the “good” serial harrassers/assaulters around...

Basically, I recognize now how stupid any of us to speak out about assault if it was just harassment or groping and that’s not real-severe-we-should-take-it-seriously assault.

Or maybe the definition of what’s “really” assault or whether it’s “really” wrong is just a sliding scale depending on how many people love or hate the perpetrator vs. victim(s). And if the perpetrator is well-loved, they better have a long victim list... but not too long, of course, because that just looks like a smear campaign.

UGH. I AM FUCKING DONE AND WANT TO GO LIVE IN A HERMIT CAVE.
