Blah.

I hate the text we are using for this class. Just read a blurb about the Masai, and it mentions male circumcision followed by female "circumcision" which it then defines as "removal of the clitoris" which "can make childbirth difficult." It equates male and female circumcision as pretty much the same thing because the Masai boys aren't allowed to make any noise or move during their procedure, just like the girls.

This is a new edition, published this year. Am I wrong in thinking that it should be worded at least a little differently?

Edit: We also had to take part in Harvard's Project Implicit for this class. That was really interesting.
