So my parents gave me the go-ahead to post the site to our vacation home, Casa Lera. The town is called Amandola, in the province of Marche. Here's some more info about the town and stuff. But the link is on the site, so that takes to the same page. Seriously, it's kinda the only way to experience Italy. DO NOT MENTION GT. Reasons at the end of the post.
Some ideas about going there:
- Since the price per week is rather high (well, for me, it's reasonable. Then again I get to go for free. So don't listen to me), I suggest you take about three friends and split the cost.
- How you get there: Basically you fly from your location (depends on the airline-we take Continental I think) to Rome or Germany to Rome, then from Rome you fly into the Ancona Falconara Airport-this is the Wikipedia link, but if you google it, it comes up in Italian. Just have Google translate the page! Then you grab a car, and drive up. I think they have a rental car area.
- Also it's groovy. And ask if my parents can hook you up with some locals!
So, just got off the phone with my parents. If you contact them via the site, they'll give you more info on what you do-because I got no fucking clue, I'm just going off of what I remember. Trying to figure out if I can get discount rates for you guys...don't mention it on the contact thing though. But you can say what I recommend at the bottom of the post.
Oh, one more thing: DO NOT MENTION GT. I don't really want my parents to know what/where I post. Just say "Your daughter told me about this on an anonymous feminist forum I frequent that she also frequents, and this sounds lovely." or whatever. They know it's a 'feminist forum'-which is what I call it...so yeah.
Have some fun!
