The one where simply smashing/shooting the control panel in a "secure" facility will unlock a door or shut down entire systems.

In Rise of the Planet of the Apes (spoiler) when the apes break into the Big Bad Pharmaceutical Company to...well, I kinda lost track of the goal, or maybe they'll show it after the ad break...but anyway they start smashing up all the computer panels, and somehow that tactic allows them to open secure doors and cause havoc. Why would you build a lab meant to handle incredibly sensitive, secure information and materials so that if the computers get smashed, the system defaults to "open"...rather than, I dunno, "Closed"?

I feel like I see this a lot in movies and TV shows, and it really bugs me.
