This bit of breaking news caught me off-guard this morning โ€” in an entirely good way, mind you โ€” especially since it appears that Pope Francis personally intervened after receiving a detailed letter from the alleged victim.

Inasmuch as I agree with the spokesperson for the Survivors' Network Of Those Abused By Priests, who (rightfully) asserts that Pope Francis must get even tougher on this issue to the point of perhaps even firing the Archbishop of Granada, I have more faith in the current Pope than I ever did in Pope Benedict. At least Pope Francis seems to have a properly-functioning "heart". At any rate, this development seems big and here's hoping it gets even bigger.
