“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”
It’s a big time of year for donating, so how about we start a catchall post for where to donate things so that they get to the people who need them most? This can also include highlighting things that get under-donated to certain drives, such as things for older kids and teens at toy drives.
This is a post spurred on by the fact that since ordering these Home Chef boxes, I have an absurd amount of ice packs. I would prefer these programs have some kind of buy back system for recycling, but they don’t. But Meals on Wheels will take them, so pass it along to anyone you know who has ice packs!
Accordingto has also written this incredibly comprehensive guide to donating to your local animal shelter.
Pulpoperdida also has this to add for those specifically looking to help Syrian refugees:
The UN Relief Effort is facing serious funding shortfalls and could consequently really use the help.
I’ll keep bumping this post up periodically throughout the holiday season and after. What nonprofits do you know need specific donations?
