Give it 5 years and we’ll be saying Hillary was right. Again.

He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.

That’s my second biggest gripe with him (first is that he ties everything to wealth without caring how race or gender affect that). I worry if he wins it’ll just be a lot of broken promises. And I worry his hardcore supporters will act the same way Trump supporters are now. They’ll never admit fault.

They also include prominent elected officials like Congresswomen Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and most recently Pramila Jayapal; all women of color, not angry white leftist men behind computer screens. Where do they fit in the culture Sanders has permitted? Are they included, or deliberately ignored?

Oh, that’s an easy one. They’re only ever brought up to detract from the “white guy bernie bro” image. Which is exactly what that MP article just did.

If any of those women attempt to reach for power (like the presidency) rest assured the Bernie stans who used them as a shield will immediately turn on them. Progressive men love women ...who support men. And that’s it. I was disillusioned with all men in 2016, and have yet to see anything proving me wrong.

Mark my words, they’ll find something to hate about AOC if she runs. But I’m sure they all feel safe saying they’d vote for her since she won’t even be eligible for another 5 years. By then she’ll be up against some other “progressive” dude fulfilling that “favorite action figure” role Bernie has now.

But back to my original thought - we can’t ever just recognize a woman’s rightness from the jump. Have to put her through hell. We’ll sheepishly admit she was right later, and we certainly won’t learn from our mistakes. Next time there’s a woman to distrust, we will.

Even AOC now - all conservative men hate her. Meanwhile I don’t see them going after Bernie with the same ferocity. She’s right on everything now, but there won’t be a wide agreement on that until like 10 years after she’s dead.

Also I’m tired of this narrative that “Hillary lost to the most unpopular candidate ever.” Well for starters she won the popular vote. Secondly and I’m sorry to say it, but she was never gonna sway misogynistic “progressives” in Wisconsin. Even if she didn’t have a long career, they’d have found something to hate (and overreact to) same as they’re doing to Warren now. We let ourselves down by not voting for her. We lost the SC seat by not voting. I’m sure if Sanders lost in 2016 instead of her, the blame finger would be pointed in the right direction.

It’s so easy for people to believe bad things about women. Meanwhile if they decide to like a man, they refuse to believe anything bad about him. No one is asking Bernie or Biden the tough questions. No one is demanding their detailed plans. And no one is gonna hold their feet to the fire when/if they become president.
