From the About section:
HANDBAG is a heartwarming feature documentary about Monica, a vivacious third generation ‘fag hag’ (she prefers ‘handbag’). She’s determined to bust the ‘hag’ stereotype of the much maligned female friend to gay men, and highlight the value of straight allies in the struggle for equality. Fag hags, it turns out, are unlikely gay activists - and have been for generations.
For us, this film is also about the power of friendship. It’s important because we believe women have the power to make a difference in the lives of others and affect real change. That’s why our film is not only about women, it’s been driven by an all-female creative team.
