So, a friend (I use the term loosely) of mine posted this wonderful pile of screed on Facebook earlier today.
Then this conversation happened:
Me: "So...you'd like to thank Conservatives in the 1990's? Because they re-integrated the term into modern vernacular and re-purposed it to its current meaning at that point as a means of attempting to equate Liberals with Stalinism (where the term originally comes from)."
Him: "I never said liberal or conservatives Ubertrout. You did. But if my comments offend your Liberal ass I invite you to remove yourself from my wall. Permanently." (in fairness, I should note that this is not the first time he has posted something dumb and I have gleefully mocked it)
Me: "Oh no no, don't misunderstand me! I'm not offended at all! Far from it. I just wanted to point out the following:
1) The person who came up with this image is pissed at those who came up with the phrase "Politically Correct" for giving us a nation full of whiney-ass pansies who have no common sense nor pride (I think it's safe to say that, since that's the entire point of the image).
2) Conservatives came up with the phrase "Politically Correct" in the 1990's (or, at least, the modern usage of it — I guess they could be talking about the original unironic version as quoted by Stalinists, but that doesn't make much sense in this context).
3) Therefore, thanks to the transitive property, the person who came up with this image is really pissed at 1990's Conservatives for giving us a nation full of whiney-ass pansies who have no common sense nor pride.
Man, whoever made this image must really hate Conservatives, and that's not cool!"
