The mainpage article on the Leia figure reminded me of something.

I was exactly the right age for Star Wars figures, and when the second movie came out my dad bought me a Lando figure. I might have grumbled something about preferring a Han in his Hoth gear or Luke in Bespin gear, but my dad said he had read that Billy Dee Williams was concerned that his figure wouldn't be as popular. Since Billy Dee seemed like a good guy, I accepted that logic. But I think my dad was trying to tell me something more about race, and I thank him for it.

Also, I read an essay about how awesome it was that Lucas cast not just any black actor but BILLY DEE WILLIAMS, who was by then a sex symbol nicknamed Dark Gable.
